Nothing knitterly to display yet. Still plodding on with the first Arisaig sleeve. Someone shoot me next time I mention that I’m thinking of knitting a whole me-sized garment in 4ply yarn!

But I did get a copy of the new Bergere de France pattern booklet (magazine?) at the weekend:

Full of lovely, stylish designs that come in LARGE sixes. A Bergere size 5 is designed to fit a 46 to 48″ bust. Rowan, take note!

You wouldn’t believe that one of my new year’s resolutions was to keep this blog up to date. Here we are, halfway through the month and now I decide I’d better get started.

The knitted Christmas presents got a mixed reception. Branching Out, which I had to start three times and sweated blood over didn’t get a second glance. These socks which I knitted for my mum got a much better response. And they were a lot more fun to knit. Maybe that’s the reason. Perhaps we expect our recipients to somehow “know” that something took a lot of effort and for the amount of appreciation they show to increase proportionately.

Whatever the answer is, I’m not going to dwell on it. I’ve got an Arisaig to finsh. More about the fun that I’m having with this particular pattern tomorrow..!
