Sorry for not updating for two weeks. I’ve just realised that I missed my one year Blogiversary on 3rd August. I’ll have to have a delayed party later in the week. I hate posting when I don’t have something remotely interesting to show, and one shawl-in-progress photo is much the same as another. Which brings me nicely to the topic of this post!
Kiri is finished:

Pattern: Kiri
Yarn: Rowan Kidsilk Haze Dewberry (600), 3 x 25g balls
Kid Silk Haze and I have reached an uneasy truce. I do love the final result, and my Kiri is every bit as lovely as I’d hoped it would be, but to get there was an interesting journey. I started off hating it’s fuzziness and stickiness, and then I didn’t mind it, and got used to knitting with it. It needs a firm hand, not like Kureyon which has to be treated like a delicate piece of china on your grandma’s mantelpiece. So then I liked KSH. But then with the Mysteriously Appearing Hole, I hated it again. But now all’s done and dusted, you know I would knit with it again someday.
But not right now. I’ve got other projects to plan. As part of my Angel Yarns Secret Santa Swap present, the lovely Kai gave me a copy of Folk Shawls. So many gorgeous shawls and not enough time. But I’ve already got my eye on one… and possibly even some yarn…
Oh, and a word on the Kiri pattern. It’s fantastic. Seriously, definitely, fantastic. I’d recommend it as a good first lace project to anyone. Maybe not knitted in KSH for a first-timer, but who am I to say what’s possible if you’re braver than me!
