Excuses, excuses…

This was going to be a really good post, full of photos of my current WIP and everyone would ooh! and aah! and I would be a happy knitter.

The Lace Leaf Shawl is still in progress. No frogging or mistakes to report. But I had also started designing a sock – which will of course become a pair – which was going to be the subject of this post. But all I have to show is this:

This is the yarn I’m using. Schaefer Yarns “Anne”, in Rainbow colourway, which is 60% wool, 25% mohair and 15% nylon. It has a slightly fluffy halo because of the mohair and is very fine for a sock yarn. So much so, that I’ve gone down a needle size compared to what I’d usually use for socks.

It also withstands repeated frogging remarkably well. I’ve realised I’m not a Planner. I’m more of a Cross-That-Bridge-When-I-Come-To-It type of knitter. Which saves thinking about things that could be tricky in a pattern, but doesn’t stop them happening entirely. So, after three froggings, I’m ready to cast on again and this time I will NOT be frogging. Honest.
