I don’t often post personal stuff on here. This blog is mainly a record for my knitting projects and despite the odd photos of small people and cats, that’s about as far as it goes.
But I haven’t posted for a while, and as it’ll be a week or so before I’m up to speed with my knitting and back to my normal cheery gyspy self, I just wanted to explain why.
On the 8th October, my Skippycat died suddenly. He was 13 years old and the stupidest, most affectionate, silliest, cowardly, cuddliest and generally bestest ever white odd-eyed cat in the world. He is irreplaceable and I miss him.

Aww, Bronte, I am so sorry about your cat. It is like losing a member of your family. When we lost our little dog, Lucy, 4 years ago, I was quite unprepared for the grief that engulfed me.
When I was sick, she used to jump up on the sofa and snuggle into by back and generally get as close as she could without breaking skin!
I used to say she was my best friend and she really was.
There is such an emptiness in the house for a long while afterwards and I am sure you will miss your cat for a long long time but, at the same time, remember all the funny, quirky, lovely things about him, too.

Oh… what an absolutely beautiful cat. Thoughts are with you; losing a pet is very, very difficult.

I found you through someone doing a “Gypsy” search on my blog and saw yours…Had to follow the link! LOVE the name of your blog!
Skippycat is beautiful, I am so sorry for your loss. He reminded me of my childhood best friend who looked JUST like him, named Frosty! He was my pal and a very silly cat who would allow me to dress him in doll clothes! I am a cat person and lost my 20 yr old girl a couple of years ago and I still miss her profoundly, she was like my child.
I love your knitting…wish I could do mine as well as you do! Alas, I am a beginner…I guess I have to have patience.

I feel for you. We lost my mog a few months ago and he left such a hole in our hearts. For the first time in 14 years there is no cat in the family. There will be in time but the time isn’t right yet.
