Even with a helpful bunny knitting a few rounds, these mittens just aren’t working:

It’s not a case of the colours not going together; they look fine on the cuff. And I’ve made the green yarn dominant (holding it in my left hand and bringing it under which means more of the yarn shows on the right side), so it should be going zing! and woo! and leafy. But it’s getting completely lost in the purple background. I bet right now you’re all squinting at your monitors, trying to see the green pattern. And that’s the problem.
One option is to switch the colours around, but I would prefer to have purple as the main colour. I think a lighter green might work better. *ponders* In any case, these are going off to be frogged while I decide what to do. And my fingers are no nearer being warm and cosy…

I agree - it’s not really showing up. Maybe a paler green or very pale blue? I love the gold colour though. Maybe you could knit different mitts with a more obvious pattern that will show up better?

It’s such a lovely pattern it’s a shame it’s not working out
From the cuff it looks like those colours should work together - it’s always frustrating when something that “should” work, doesn’t :s

It looks beautiful, but I know what you mean about the green getting lost. If a lighter color doesn’t do it, how about going darker? That might make it contrast more.

I had a similar probelm when i did a pink and grey…
Trick I was told was - take a photo of the yarns and view them as black and white… if you can see a contrast they will work.. if you can’t and they come out as similar grey shades they’ll merge and they won’t… give it a go with other colours and see what works…. saves time - trust me :o)

I think these two colours may be sitting a little too close together tonally
what a shame, I think Diane is right, maybe if you go for a deepr or lighter shade of either it will help them pop more
