Small but perfectly formed

Thanks to everyone for the get well soon wishes. We’re all a lot better now. :-D

Just a quick post to say that I have started work on a smaller, woman’s size, version of my Hareton sock pattern.

Small Haretons

After swatching a couple of times, I realised it would be easier to modify the stitch pattern, rather than trying to use the same one as the larger version. It’s simple enough to do and will be a much quicker knit than the originals. Unfortunately, they won’t be done within the next couple of weeks because of other knitting taking priority. But they’re on their way!

ETA: Because I am a numpty and forgot to mention the yarn! It’s Rowan 4ply Soft in Tea Rose.

  3. Yes, that’s very pretty yarn and very pretty sock! I would like to know what the mystery yarn is, too.

  4. Lovely! Perfect use for the yarn :-) Glad you’re all feeling better xx

Thank you, Kate, for working on a smaller size of your lovely Hareton sock pattern. I have the pattern in my sock binder and I look at it frequently with longing but the original version is too big for me (and my husband) – one of the downsides of being very short people! I guess the upside is the fact that shorter people tend to have smaller, shorter feet so require less sock yarn!
Love your patterns and your blog. And I always admire how well you combine yarn type and color with the patterns you knit.
I look forward to having Hareton socks!

  7. Thanks for adding the name of the yarn; I can see some of that falling into a basket for me before long…

  8. Ooh, I’m looking forward to knitting the ladies version of your Hareton socks!! Thank you so much for working on the ladies version of the pattern. I love Rowan 4ply soft and that colour is scrummy!
