Feeling small(er)

I don’t often write about desperately personal stuff on here as I like having a jaunty blog full of yarn and squishyness and cake. But today was a milestone for me so I need to share it and reserve the right to brag on my blog as I pay for the hosting. :-P

I have been on a weight-loss campaign since May. This is nothing new, because I am permanently on a diet of some sort, but I decided to have a fresh start, with an entirely different eating plan (and I have tried pretty much everything over the past 10 years…) and I think I have finally found the perfect eating plan. The proof of which was this morning when I stepped on the scales for my weekly weigh-in and I have lost *precisely* 2 stone (28 pounds).

There is still a long way to go. I won’t say how far because it scares me, and might just send me to the corner shop for a bar of Dairy Milk. But I finally feel as if I could actually do it, and when I do, there are a million sweaters I want to knit. :-D

  1. Many congratulations! It is quite an achievement.

  2. Yipeee. Well done you. I have been doing a similar thing since the start of May.. however it is the first time for me.
I am really really hoping to hit the 2 stone mark at my weigh in this evening (I’m quite sure I will as there is only 1/2 a pound to go). I spent most of last night looking at jumpers and cardigans to knit. So excited.

  3. Congratulations! That’s an impressive accomplishment!

  4. Well done!! You can definitely do it!

  5. 2 stone, eh? Gives new meaning to the phrase “dropped like a rock”! ;-) Congratulations! What kind of a plan are you on?

  6. Fantastic! I know from personal experience how hard it can be to shift the unwanted poundage. Are you rewarding yourself with yarn? Y’know, 100g of cashmere for every lb lost?

  7. Congratulations, that’s awesome :-D

  8. Yay! Go you :-) you are working hard and seeing the results. We’re all here in support.

  9. Well done! Thts a wonderful acheivement. I’ve been battling my weight for years and have given up for now!! keep going.

  10. Wow! That’s brilliant! Do you like the plan itself (because obviously the results are great)?

  17. That’s fantastic, you must have Olympic standard willpower so I’m sure there will be no stopping you now.

  18. Well done on your weight loss! I have lost 4 and a half stone over the last couple of years. Having battled with my weight throughout my adult life, being told I was big-boned, and I had the height to carry the extra weight, the biggest change for me was my change in attitude. I no longer think of myself as being on a diet. I try to eat healthily, but if I fancy chocolate for example, I have some. Previously, eating chocolate whilst ‘dieting’ would have been a big no no, and I would have thought, well, I’ve blown it now, so I may as well have lots more! Now, there isn’t that pressure. We have cut down on portion size slightly, and also try to take a bit longer over meals. Life is so rushed these days, it’s nice to be able to sit down and relax with a meal, rather than stuff it down quickly. And the biggest boost is when your clothes are hanging off you and you have to get a new wardrobe. I used to hate buying clothes, but now I love it! I gave all my big clothes to a charity shop so I can’t ‘grow’ back into them again! Good luck!
