How can I avoid knitting baby hats when patterns like this one are lying in wait to tempt me?! :-(

The pattern is Blue Rabbit Hat by Mel Clark. I don’t know whether to buy some yarn and cast on immediately, or just stay away from Ravelry until October. :-D

    I vote for stay away from Ravelry from October.

    I say, Why avoid knitting baby hats? The baby will be born in the perfect season for hats; they’ll get dirty and you’ll leave them in cars and at their grandparents’ (hats, not baby), so you’ll need lots of them. Your kid will be known as the one with all the cool hats, giving her a sartorial head start on her life.

    lovely – both the hat and the quilt in the background! i love me a grandmother’s flower garden, but would need at least another 5 lifetimes to make one… ah well maybe i’ll stick to hats!
