Ending the week with another FO because I am rubbish at getting my photo taken. It takes a large amount of
gin encouragement to get me in front of the camera, but as I finished this hat nearly a month ago, it needed to be done.
And it’s a brilliant hat. I love Woolly Wormhead’s designs. I know that if I knit myself one of her berets then it will fit and keep my ears warm over the winter and it will look cute
from behind. I have several of her beret patterns yet to knit, so chose Annular because a) I wanted a cream hat and the cream yarn in my stash was DK-weight and b) it looked like a fairly simple knit, which it was.
The ribbing starts with an alternate cable cast-on, which I’ve never done before but really makes a difference to the edging. I like learning new techniques, and will use this one again for sure. The stitch pattern was very simple to memorise and the whole hat pretty much flew off the needles.
I used the remainder of the accursed King Cole Comfort DK for this hat because I hate waste and I feel sad because it knits up and blocks so beautifully, but I won’t be buying it again. Anyway, if I can get Rose’s winter hat done, then I might treat myself by knitting myself another winter hat from the remaining patterns.
