It does feel sometimes that, when I write about what I’m knitting, it’s as if I don’t have three children. The boys started spurning my offers of knitwear a couple of years ago. Apparently they don’t get cold enough for a hat in the winter and they don’t want to wear sweaters. So as I’m not going to waste my knitting time on something that won’t be appreciated, Rose gets all the yarny goodness.
Imagine my suprise/delight/glee, then, when Oscar mentioned that he would like some knitted socks because he has cold feet. I refrained from doing a happy dance around the room in case I frightened him off the idea and instead set to work finding a suitable pattern. Knitting socks for him is easy because he only has UK 4½ size feet, so that means a lot more patterns are a possibility.
The yarn is a glorious green from my stash. His favourite colour is green, so it’s the perfect choice. They’re whizzing along like nobody’s business and I’m hoping to have these done before the weekend so that I can start my sweater knitting with a clean slate.
